About the Event

Opening reception September 1, 7pm

Sisterhood Fibres has invited a group of fibre artists who interact with fibre in a variety of materials. These artists challenge perceptions and alter ideas of Fibre Art.

Bonny Hall – fantastical birds and animals sculpted with felting needles and wet-felting techniques. Doris-Ann Savoie – Basket weaving using splint reed and traditional techniques Jane Whitten – contemporary basketmaker and knitter creating functional and dysfunctional pieces using traditional and non-traditional materials Silvana Valiani- experimental fibre artist over several mediums. Nuno Felting, weaving and knitting Charlene and Debbie Miller – designers, dyers and rug hookers with wool Tzigane Caddell – dyes cotton, linen and silk shawsl& scarves in natural indigo
